SOMA project happily accepted the invitation of the European Commission to join ICT 2018, the key European ICT research and innovation event, hosted in Vienna on 4-6 December 2018.
During ICT 2018, we had the chance to participate in a specialized session hosted by CERTH, that brought together participants with an interest in the highly important topic of online disinformation.
This session, positioned with the theme “Inspiring a digital society”, gave the chance to a number of experts to present the latest scientific and technological advances that can help mitigate it and proposed solutions and initiatives that tackle information manipulation.
The session was organized by CERTH’s, Symeon Papadopoulos and featured contributions by Vasileios Mezaris (CERTH), Denis Teyssou (AFP), Jochen Spangenberg (Deutsche Welle), Nikos Sarris (Athens Technology Center) and Zlatina Marinova (Ontotext). Our own Nikos Sarris presented Truly Media, the backbone application that SOMA members exploit.
